Benin prince arrested for defrauding hundreds of job seekers in new york

A Nigerian prince and his accomplice have been arrested on grounds of defrauding hundreds of job seekers in new york.

Osmond Eweka, 31, a prince from the Benin royal family in Nigeria, and Kamel McKay, 27 a U.S citizen were both apprehended for allegedly scamming their victims of thousands of dollars with the promise of helping them secure high paying jobs in the city, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

According to reports, the two suspects pretended to run two consulting firms, Stamford Consulting Firm and Howard Consulting Group and a website “indeed.com” and they sucessfully bamboozoled the unsuspecting victims promising them jobs ranging from hotel jobs, housekeeping, receptionist after collected a fee ranging from 300-700$ from them.

Luck ran out on them and they were arrested. Eweka appeared in a Manhattan court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to charges of larceny and scheme to defraud.

They also used fake names, according to the New York Post. Eweka went by the name Sean Jackson and McKay reportedly used the name Tyrone Hayes.

Both men were indicted on charges of larceny and scheme to defraud. McKay was arraigned last week and released on $200,000 bail.

Eweka a prince from the benin kigdom also a U.S citizen, is married to attorney Imade Igbinedion, he married her in 2016 and the weeding was celebrated in style.

However Representatives from the Benin family in a denial move, told NY Times that they could not assertain whether Eweka was a family member or not as the family is a large one.
