Dept senate president Ekweremadu lands in EFCC custody

Premium times is reporting that the deputy senate president of Nigeria, senator ike ekeweremadu has been taking into custody by the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) for questioning as regards the previous cases he was summoned on.

The invitation became know to the public hours after EFCC officials laid a siege at his residence in Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja.

Ekweremadu who was invited last week tuesday has been indicted in multiple allegations of unlawful practices in recent years, including claims that he forged Senate standing rules which led to the controversial election of principal officers in June 2015.

He is also been accused of owning multiple properties overseas, some which have been allegedly purchased using shell firms and political associates covering for him.
