Former Vice President of nigeria and Presidential aspirant under the people’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, affirmed that he is qualified and not desperate to be the president of nigeria.
He made this statement while responding to questions from newsmen in benin yesterday, were he pledged aligencee to his party (pdp) even if fails to secure the presidential ticket.
The former vice president who hinted that all he has is the interest of nigerians, at heart, explained to the public not to confuse resilence for desperation, stating that the fact he keeps on contesting dosen’t show desperation but goodwill towards the people of nigeria as he still has ideas that can put the country on the right path
“What do you expect my critics to say”??
“I can run as many times as I want. I am fit and qualified and I still have ideas to put this country on the right path. What is wrong in trying again and again. “I am not desperate to become President. If I were desperate, I would have taken the presidency in 2003”. He said
“If I were desperate, I would not have stepped down for Abiola. I have the interest of this country” he further added
