Two baby traffickers nabbed by police in imo state

Two women who specialize in the bussiness of buying and reselling babies have been arrested by the imo state police command for buying two newborn twins in Umuahia, Abia state.

The two women izoba Eze and Amaka Eze who hail from enugu state reportedly purchased the babies, emmanuel and emmanuela who were a day-old for a sum of N1.8M with the aim of reselling after impersonating the mother of the twin

The two babies were however rescued and the suspects apprehended on Owerri-Aba Road while they were in the process of trafficking the babies following a coordinated operation by the imo state police

The suspects were paraded on Monday alongside six others, who also allegedly abducted and sold nine other children in owerri and benin city.

They are expected to appear in court and face trial over human trafficking after investigations are completed.
