2 Notorious cultists “mad lion” and “firefighter” apprehended by vigilante in kogi

Two suspected cultists/kidnappers Abdulkarim Idris alias “the mad lion” and his accomplice Atene Amade, alias “firefighter” who are well known for their dubious activities in the town have both been apprehended by a vigilante group at Ojuwo-Afu, in Igalamela local government area in Kogi state.

According to reports, the suspects were said to have perpetrated numerous kidnappings in the past especially along Idah-Ajegu-Lokoja road but walked freely as they are said to allegedly have strong political back up.

The news of their capture has brought joy to the villagers who say that peace will reign for once in the area, but fear that the suspects might get released as their sponsors are said to be rich and influencial.

They have however pleaded with the general public to ensure the suspects are convicted for their crimes.

Items recovered from the suspects include a locally made hand gun and cartridges.
