Promising 300l Uniben student dies of sickle cell anaemia after been denied Urgent medical attention

A promising 300 level enterprenuership student of the university of benin, Austin okafor, has reportedly lost his life following a denied urgent medical attention from the school medical team.

Austin who was said to be a sickle cell patient, lost his life yesterday at the university of benin teaching hospital (UBTH) after he was rushed from the school health centre following health complications which disrupted his exams.

According to the source which alleged, austin was denied proper medical attention while been rushed to the hospital, the source claimed that the  school’s ambulance which lacked the basic life saving facilties intead of going striaght to the traching hospital branched at the school student affairs division to seek “clearance” while the patient struggled for his life.

Its was a said by the source that after recieving the “clearance” which took about 35mins to process, mr austin, received additional 15mins delay at the Accident and Emergency ward (A&E) due to delay in appearance of doctors and medical attention which the student needed.

Dockaysworld quickly reached out to some witnesses including some doctors and medical students present in the A&E ward at the stipulated time, and they all claim that there was never a 15mins delay as claimed by the source.

However, Mr austin later died while as doctors struggled to save him.

His corpse has been deposited in the mortuarary were he is expected to be taken for burial soon.
