According to reports, Dino was visited by several senators at his besieged home on Friday, January 4th. The Senators were said to have escorted him to the Police headquarters for a meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

The Police have been trying to arrest Senator Melaye since December 28th when his house was besieged for attempted murder of a Police Officer in Kogi state.

The Nigerian police in a statement by its spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, had said the senator, alongside his ‘armed thugs’, shot one Danjuma Saliu, a sergeant, in July 2018.

Dino has denied the allegations.
