Pandemonium erupts as Parliament suspend UNIBEN SUG executives over gross misconduct (See list)

There was widespread pandemonium after the Parliament of Students Union Government of the University of Benin(UNIBEN) suspended 5 executive members of the Student Union Government over gross misconduct and negligence. 

Today the 20th of April, 2019, a motion was moved by Senator Oghogho Godstime of the faculty of Medicine to suspend 5 executive members including the President(Idehen Charles), the Vice President(Chikamso Glory), Director of Welfare(Ikponmwen Godspower), Financial secretary(Iyobosa Oviawe) and Secretary General(Ihejirika Francis) of the Union for gross misconduct.

Dockaysworld learnt that a scuffle broke out immediately after the adjournment of the plenary as the honorable Senators of the house perceived a threat from suspected cultists at the scene who are against the actions on the Executives concerned. 

It was gathered that Honorable Godstime had to be whisked away for his own safety.

The President was suspended for allegedly signing an agreement with the school authority that led to students paying the sum of N3000 for course registration which was free prior to this current session and for subsequently going ahead to lead a “false protest” after the executive members had reportedly failed to benefit from the “deal” struck by both parties.

The vice president of the government, Hon. chikamso glory was suspended for allegedly sourcing funds amounting to over a million Naira without the consent or approval of the parliament.

While the director of welfare was suspended for neglecting his duties as the school environment has been left untidy, bushy and also for his negligence in attending to the light issues on the campus. 

The 5 executive members suspended are to return all union properties and evacuate their offices until the committee set up to investigate their alleged crimes have come up with a reply.
