Reports indicate that a 400 level Accounting student of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, identified as Ify, has been rushed to the health centre after attempting suicide by drinking sniper at the Hall 1 student hostel.
According to reports, she had ingested the insecticide without her roommates being aware.
They had later rushed into to room and forced palm oil down her throat to reduce the effect of the poison.

She has been subsequently rushed to the school health centre for further treatment.
Ify’s last WhatsApp status update had been a cryptic message where she said that life wasn’t worth living.
Reasons behind her actions are yet to be ascertained till her expected recovery is complete.
