Senator Elisha Abbo has been detained after questioning by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, on Thursday, over the assault of a nursing mother at a sex toy shop in Abuja.
The suspect, who went to the command in response to the police summons, was taken into custody.
According to the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Bala Ciroma, the Senator is will remain in detention to enable detectives complete the investigation into the alleged assault.

In a video released by Premium Times, on Monday, he was seen hitting a woman after she pleaded with him not to physically assault the shop owner whom he accused of insulting him.
Senator Abbo is also currently being probed by the Senate amidst accusations that he also physically abused his late ex-wife.
