Raheem Sterling scored a second-half hat-trick as Manchester City thrashed West Ham in admirable fashion to begin their premier league season.

The City star’s treble capped a scintillating performance by pep Guardiola’s men at the London Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus put them ahead midway through the first half as he converted Kyle Walker’s low cross.

Sterling got in on the act after the break with a double before substitute Sergio Aguero scored a fourth from the penalty spot at the second time of asking after a VAR decision.

Sterling wrapped things up late on to clinch the matchball as City fired a warning to their title rivals.
