UEFA Super Cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea was disrupted by a pitch invader in Istanbul.
Eight stewards were needed to chase down the man, who sprinted across the field towards the end of the ground housing Chelsea supporters before sliding on his knees and being upended.
The incident occurred around 15 minutes into the game with the scores still goalless and caused a brief delay as he was
removed from the field.
Footage showed him sprinting around to avoid stewards before performing the knee slide and being quickly jumped on by a number of staff and carried away from the field.
The incident in Istanbul was not shown on TV, with the cameras panning away from the incident as the brief delay was left unexplained.
The clash between the two Premier League clubs got off to a subdued start, although Liverpool had a penalty shout for handball turned down whilst Pedro struck the bar for Chelsea shortly after the pitch invader was removed from the pitch.
