The Taraba state kidnap boss identified as Hamisu Wadume, has been re-arrested by the police, some weeks after he escaped when Nigerian solders allegedly rescued him and killed some policemen in the process.
Wadume was taken into custody at the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday August 20. The police are expected to put out a statement later today.
Recall, an army captain had also been taken into custody some days ago after it was discovered that he had been in contact with the kidnapper, exchanging over a hundred messages with him.

The Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ibbi local government area of the state and seven other people, including an Islamic cleric had also been arrested by the Police in connection to the case as reported by Daily trust.
The Nigerian army had admitted that its officers had killed 4 persons including the 3 policemen and a civilian but claimed that they had been maistaken for kidnappers.
Three officers – Inspector Mark Ediale, Sergeants Usman Danzumi, Dahiru Musa – and an IRT informant, Olajide Owolabi all lost their lives from the attack by suspected crooked soldiers.
