A mob of angry protesters have invaded Shoprite on Lekki-Epe expressway in Lagos state on Tuesday afternoon while setting fire to the environs over xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

The crowd got into the building and proceeded to damage the goods present while threatening to burn down the place.

According to reports, the people responsible for this act had family members who were killed in South Africa during the recent xenophobic attacks.

The development comes less than 24 hours after reports of attacks on foreign nationals, including Nigerians, in South Africa, went viral.

The protesters, who attempted to break into mall of South Africa-owned Shoprite were resisted by policemen on ground.
