A disease known as Hantavirus has reportedly killed one man in the Yunnan Province in China amidst the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The disease which is not new is spread mainly by rodents and the exposure of humans to their fasces or waste.

The Orthohantavirus popularly referred to as Hantavirus, has emerged from China with a single casualty so far.

The deceased had been on a chartered bus to Shandong Province for work on Monday when he fell and died, Global Times reports.

He was tested positive for Hantavirus. The other 32 persons in the bus have also been tested

Unlike Coronavirus, the cases of human-to-human transmission of Hantavirus are rare so far.

Symptoms of the virus include

Fatigue,
Fever
Muscle aches
Headache
Dizziness
Chills
Abdominal problems.

If left untreated, it can lead to coughing and shortness of breath and finally death.
