COVID-19: University of Benin manufactures ventilator that works without electricity

Researchers at the University of Benin, UNIBEN, have produced a ventilator for use during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The disease which affects the respiratory system of patients has made the need for ventilators paramount in fighting it.

According to a press release by the school, the team of researchers led by Professor Kensington Obahiagbon, in the Faculty of Engineering and Medical sciences devised the equipment.

The vice chancellor, Professor Salami thanked the team for their effort and zeal in following her directives to look inward for solutions.
