The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has assured the people that the traditional cure to the COVID-19 pandemic would be ready soon.
He made this known yesterday while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, shortly after donating two motorised modular fumigators to the state government.
Recall the Ooni had claimed some weeks ago to possess the cure for the dreaded disease. He had said that local herbs were the remedy.
He had now revealed that the traditional drug is in its final stage of production and would be ready for use soon enough.
Oba Ogunwusi, who stated the donation of the mechanical fumigators was his own contribution to the state government’s efforts at combating the pandemic, said that he had gone far in working with the traditional medicine practitioners in the country to ensure a solution for Coronavirus.
He reiterated the need to look inward for solutions to the disease rather than depending solely on science like the rest of the world.
The Ooni, therefore, urged the Federal Government to emulate Madagascar in its quest to use local herbs in combating Coronavirus, declaring that local herbs have the potency to heal victims of the virus.
The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun praised the traditional ruler for his alternative approach to fighting the disease, calling on more of such innovation.
