Governor Wike demolishes two Hotels in Rivers state for breaking lockdown rules [photos]

The Rivers state Government under the order of Governor Wike has demolished the Prodest Hotel, Eleme, and Etemeteh Hotel, Onne, for allegedly violating the lockdown directives.

The Governor had ordered a lockdown and told the the hotels to remained closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for the duration or face punishment.

The governor had warned residents that failure to comply with the order would attract stiff penalties.

On Sunday afternoon, Wike was said to have personally supervised the demolition of the hotel in Eleme while other government officials headed to Onne.

Nigerians have since taken to social media to condemn the act, claiming it was a lawless act by a dictator.
