Man flees COVID-19 isolation center to smoke weed

A naval officer, SM Ahmadu, who was being treated for for Covid-19 in Delta State, escaped an isolation center as smoking weed was prohibited in the facility.

Ahmadu, who is presently serving at the Base Maintenance Unit, reportedly escaped the isolation centre in Oghara town on Saturday where he was receiving treatment.

According to reports, the patient had been denied his request to smoke weed in the facility when he had been newly admitted the week before .

“He came to the isolation centre with a knife, it was this knife he used to chase the security manning the gates before escaping,” a source said.
