The recent ban of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS patrols by the IGP has not been enough to stop youth from taking to the streets of Benin in protest.
Recall, the IGP had made the declaration following massive outcry for the abolishing of the tactical unit after a young man was murdered by them in Ughelli, Delta state. His car was then snatched by the operatives as he died.
There was however no obvious change after the order of the IGP as there were several reports of continued harassment by SARS operatives all over the country including Urora in Edo state.
This prompted a peaceful protest by youth in Benin city who gathered to air their grievances over the increased killings and harassment by the police.
While speaking, the young men identified themselves as yahoo boys perhaps in a sarcastic bid to show how SARS operatives view young ones in the country.
