Popular Nollywood actress and producer Toyin Abraham, has been under fire on social media after she reportedly made a statement considered to be dismissive of the ongoing #EndSARS protests.

Abraham had since the release of her new movie, Fate of Alakada been promoting it on all her social media pages and recently, in light of the protests by Nigerian youths pushing for the end of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad division of the Nigerian police force, the actress took no break from the promotion of her movie.

People had asked why she’d ignored the protests and kept on promoting her movie during such a trying time.

She wrote:

This is me I don’t get u please I should leave my movie in cinemas or what or what exactly do you people want gangan

Many have since said that they’d boycott the movie she’d been promoting as only those who remained alive could see movies.

She has however apologized, saying she isn’t perfect with the hope she’s forgiven for her flaws.

She wrote,

You know I love and adore my fans but you can correct me with love not cursing me and my family. It’s fine I’m not perfect. #EndSARS
