The deputy Governor of Edo state, Phillip Shaibu, has revealed in an interview that the increased violence in the state are not caused by EndSARS protesters.
Honorable Shaibu stated that the thugs who had hijacked the movement were causing injury to the protesters and bullying them. He reported that these hoodlums were beating up citizens and extorting them.
The deputy Governor said that it was fairly obvious that the ones perpetrating crimes including looting were not EndSARS protesters who had legitimate claims.
He said that protesters were articulate and wanted simply their demands to be taken into account meanwhile these thugs just wanted to wreak havoc.
Mr Shaibu stated that the government was going to work out a plan for security while noting that as the elections were just recently conducted, some persons wanted to cause trouble in the state.
Recall the hoodlums has also staged a prison break yesterday, freeing many prisoners from incarceration.
The Givernor has also announced that a 24 hour curfew had been put in place to curb the violence.
