Confusion as Student Union Government of Nigerian Polytechnic bestow merit awards on cult groups in school [photos]

There’s been cause for some confusion recently as the student union government (SUG) of the polytechnic of Offa did something unexpected with its awards.

The SUG body had reportedly handed out awards of merit to notorious cult groups in the school including Alora, Eiye and Aye. 

A twitter user had shared photos of the awards stating: 

When you think you have seen it all… Student Union Government of Offa Polytechnic gave merit Awards to Secret Cults in the school. Hey Lawd!!! Face with tears of joy

Meanwhile, in the comments, someone had suggested that this was no rare thing but quite common in higher education as cultists sometimes demand for recognition or bribes from schools.
