Big brother Naija season 4 winner Mercy Eke, has narrated how she became successful and famous as she cast off rumors that she was being sponsored by a man behind the scenes.
The reality star recently released another video on her YouTube channel where she answered some questions from her fans.
A fan asked her how she felt when people associate her success and wealth with men and she stated that she had stopped letting it get to her.
Mercy said that the society was part of the problem as people attributed a woman’s success to a man whether she was married or no single.
She however said that the rumors only showed that her success was very visible.
She added that her biggest fear in life was failure as she pledged to never stop growing and never stop dreaming.
In her words;
“In this part of the world, people believe a man is behind the success of a woman, whether she is married or single.
I work hard for everything I own today. When people say a man is behind these things, I find it appalling. However, it does not get to me anymore because what else would one say? It only shows that my success is visible.”
“My biggest fear in life is a failure. I don’t want to fail and go back to the streets. I don’t want to roast corn anymore. I just want to keep doing what I know how to do best. God has blessed me.
The fear of failure makes me stronger. I want to be a better person. I want today to be better than yesterday.
That is why no matter what is thrown at me, I would never stop growing. I would never stop establishing myself and I would never stop dreaming,”
“I worked hard for this fame and I won’t let the fame get to me. Sometimes, I even forget that I am a celebrity. I drive myself and do things a normal person does.”
