According to an eyewitness, the bus was speeding and attempted a wrongful overtaking before the driver lost control and collided with the trailer.

FRSC Sector Commander Olajide Mogaji said an investigation has begun and cautioned motorists to avoid night travel, speeding, dangerous driving, and driving under fatigue or influence.

He urged the public to use the toll-free line 122 to report road emergencies.

Meanwhile condolences have begun to pour in over the tragic loss of lives.
