Nollywood actress and philanthropist Sarah Martins has received a ₦20 million donation from Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, to support her humanitarian foundation and revive her street feeding outreach.
Martins shared the news on Instagram, posting a video showing the moment she received the amount in dollars and expressing gratitude to the president’s son.
“From DISGRACE to GRACE. From the office of the President, our philanthropic youth leader MR SEYI TINUBU just supported my NGO with 20,000,000. Nigerians, please help me say thank you to him. He didn’t only give me 20,000,000 but also promised to take my free food charity outreach to the next level. On behalf of @goldenheartfoundation2, I am beyond grateful, sir. And my beautiful Queen @iamdrbea thank you for everything, we are in this together. Forward ever! Cheers to NEXT LEVEL.”
The donation comes shortly after Martins’ encounter with officials of the Lagos State Government’s Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) task force, who allegedly stopped her from cooking and sharing food for the public along a street in Lekki.
Videos from the incident, which circulated online, showed the actress in tears with a visibly swollen hand said to have been burnt by hot oil during the scuffle. The Lagos State Government later confirmed the operation, saying it was part of efforts to maintain cleanliness and order in the state.
In a statement, Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, clarified that Martins was apprehended for engaging in unauthorised activities on public infrastructure.
While acknowledging her charitable intentions, the state said such activities must comply with regulations under the #KeepLagosClean and #ZeroToleranceLagos campaigns.
Seyi Tinubu’s gesture has drawn widespread praise online, with many describing it as a show of encouragement for Martins’ charitable work under her Golden Heart Foundation, which feeds the less privileged in Lagos.
