There has been uproar on Twitter formerly known as X after Paystack co-founder Ezra Olubi was outed over troubling tweets he made years ago, which have now resurfaced, Dockaysworld reports.
The issue began a few days ago when a financial professional known as Max Obae (@makispoke) on X made subliminal accusations that many attributed to the tech founder.
While she never mentioned names, she alleged that the person in question mistreated his domestic staff and had a troubling relationship with a subordinate.
She later went on an X Space to address the accused, referring to him as “John Doe.” Max noted that she had experienced manipulation and spotted other red flags while in a relationship with him and her wife, in what she described as a three-way relationship commonly called a polycule.
She further narrated that he allegedly tried to have her arrested and ended both their romantic relationship and then their friendship following another X controversy between herself and fellow feminist, Ozzy Etomi.
After a back-and-forth over whether to believe her claims, allegedly against the founder, a number of disturbing old tweets surfaced, some bordering on pedophilia, bestiality, and other unhinged behavior, including one encouraging inappropriate conduct toward female colleagues and friends.
Max has since returned to another X Space to affirm that her allegations were indeed about Ezra and that she is ready to face him in court if he challenges her.
She had earlier disclosed that she still owes him $55,000 but maintained in her recent Space that she would not back down from exposing him.
In the midst of the controversy, Ezra has deactivated his account and left the platform without any explanation or apology.
The saga has reignited debate about giving women the benefit of the doubt when calling out abusers, regardless of how they may be perceived in terms of personality or history.
Feminists are reportedly rallying support for Max for speaking up and outing the founder for his alleged abusive behavior, allegations that his resurfaced tweets have seemingly lent further credibility to.
