Obaseki vows retaliation over alleged violent threats by Governor Okpebholo

Immediate past Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has reacted to what he alleged were threats of violence by the current governor, Monday Okpebholo, and vowed to fight back.

Dockaysworld reports that the former governor, who spoke during an event in the United Kingdom, stated that he had been quiet about the new administration for over a year because he wanted to give them a chance to do some work.

He noted that the government had refused to accord him the same respect, citing a collusion between them and the palace at a recent protest at MOWAA, where he said the mob had made threats to his life.

He further fingered Okpebholo himself, referencing a recent interview where the governor stated that he could not return to Edo State since the end of his tenure.

He warned that those who live by the sword will die by the sword and argued that the violence had not been started by him, but that he would defend himself and “fight back.”

He vowed to return to Edo State despite the governor’s assertion and said that when he did, he would return in full force to his supporters.
