The president described the late scholar as a man devoted to humanity who shared knowledge widely and lived by strong moral values rooted in faith.

He urged Nigerians to continue praying for peace, unity, economic growth and national development, while also holding on to the principles the cleric stood for throughout his life.

He also prayed for divine mercy for the late scholar and peace for the country.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, welcomed the president’s visit and thanked him for personally coming to console the state and the family.

He said that the visit, following the earlier presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima at the burial rites, showed deep respect for the late scholar and the people of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Bashir Sheikh Dahiru-Bauchi expressed appreciation to the president for sending a senior delegation for the funeral and for taking time to visit the family in person.

After the condolence visit, President Tinubu proceeded to the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport and departed for Lagos.
