Charles Omole reveals five cabals in Tinubu’s govt
Political analyst and author of From Soldier to Statesman, Charles Omole, has alleged that there are at least five influential cabals operating within the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Omole shared this view during an appearance on the Politics Today programme on Channels Television, which was also monitored by Tribune Online.
According to him, one of the cabals is allegedly headed by President Tinubu himself, while others revolve around key political figures and close family members of the President.
“Every president will always have people around him. But you need to put systems in place to avoid state capture or presidential capture,” Omole said.
He added, “From what I can see, the current government has, at least, five cabals within the presidency.”
Omole identified the groups as the President Bola Tinubu cabal, the Femi Gbajabiamila–Nyesom Wike bloc, the Seyi Tinubu group, and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s circle.
Omole said he found it troubling that the strongest of these groups seems to be the one led directly by the President.
“The interesting thing about one of the cabals is that it is actually headed by the president himself, based on my own analysis,” he said.
Omole also warned that if strong systems are not in place, the power struggle between these groups could weaken the government and slow down clear decision-making.
