Popular content creator Esther Thomas, widely known as Sunshine, has died following complications from a fibroids surgery.
Her death was announced in a statement shared on her official page by her family and seen by Dockaysworld. They revealed she passed away on January 9, 2026, after an unsuccessful operation.
“With pain in our heart, we regret to announce the sudden demise of our beloved sister and daughter, Esther Thomas (A.K.A Sunshine),” the statement read.
According to the family, Sunshine had been diagnosed with fibroids and underwent surgery, but complications arose and she did not survive the procedure.
A colleague, Chidera Madu, also shared a video narrating the events leading to her death. He said Sunshine fell ill and was rushed to a hospital, where there were initially no doctors available to attend to her.
He explained that she was later moved to another hospital where surgery was eventually carried out.
However, complications reportedly set in after the operation, leading to her death.
