Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) shortly after being granted bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He had honoured the EFCC’s invitation over alleged corruption linked to his administration and was released around 8 p.m. before being picked up at the commission’s headquarters.
The arrest is reportedly linked to allegations that he unlawfully intercepted the communications of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Recall Dockaysworld reported that El-Rufai admitted to monitoring Ribadu’s private calls during an interview on national television.Â
He alluded to a call related to his recent failed arrest attempt at the Abuja airport, which El-Rufai had blamed on Ribadu.
