The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday began monitoring the ongoing Area Council elections across the territory.
Wike commenced the monitoring exercise at about 12:15 p.m. in the Karu area of the FCT, where voting was in progress.
The minister could be seen commending the INEC staff conducting the elections for carrying out their duties.

Recall Dockaysworld reported that Wike restricted movement and declared a work free day on the day before the election.
Abuja residents adhere to the directives to varying levels of compliance with many still moving about within curfew period prior to election commencing on Saturday.
