The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured five of the six chairmanship seats in the 2026 FCT Area Council elections, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with one victory.
Recall that Dockaysworld earlier reported that the APC had won 3 councils including Kwali, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Bwari, while the PDP won in Gwagwalada.
The latest declaration from Kuje further strengthens the APC’s dominance. Danjuma Samuel polled 17,269 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Zakwoyi Danlami, who scored 15,824 votes.
The returning officer, Prof. Nkiruka Odoh, announced that Samuel won six of the 10 wards and secured victory by a margin of 1,445 votes. The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) placed third with 4,305 votes.
INEC figures show that Kuje had 147,271 registered voters, with 39,799 accredited. A total of 38,491 votes were declared valid, 1,097 were rejected, bringing total votes cast to 39,588.
With Abaji also declared for the APC, the party now controls five of the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory.
