Nine senators defect to ADC


Nine senators on thursday decamped from their respective political parties to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with the announcements made during plenary in the Senate.

The lawmakers defected from different parties including the Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

From the South-East, Senator Tony Nwoye (Anambra North) and Senator Victor Umeh (Anambra Central) left the Labour Party for the ADC, while Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South) defected from APGA. Senator Austin Akobundu (Abia Central) also moved from the PDP to the ADC.

In the North-East and North-West, Senator Binos Yaroe (Adamawa South), Senator Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto South), and Senator Lawal Usman (Kaduna Central) left the PDP to join the ADC.

From the North-Central, Senator Ogoshi Onawo (Nasarawa South) defected from the PDP, while Senator Ireti Kingibe (FCT) also dumped the Labour Party for the ADC.
