Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu has reacted after celebrity businessman and socialite, Cubana Chief Priest, lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat in Imo State.
Cubana Chief Priest contested for the APC ticket to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
The nightlife promoter, who is also serving as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, was defeated by the current lawmaker representing the constituency, Canice Nwachukwu.
The businessman secured 14 votes in the primary election while Nwachukwu retained the ticket to continue his political ambition under the ruling party.
Following the result, Seyi Tinubu took to Instagram to encourage Cubana Chief Priest.
The president’s son told him not to lose hope over the outcome of the election and urged him to remain strong despite the setback.
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” Seyi wrote.
Before Seyi Tinubu’s reaction, the socialite had already spoken about the election result.
He said he did not regret contesting for the position but expressed disappointment over the support he received from leaders in his community during the primary election.
He also lamented that despite the assistance and support he claimed to have given to some elders in the area, only 14 delegates voted for him during the exercise.
“I’m a hustler, and I didn’t regret trying to contest for a position. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community.I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary,” he said.
