Police rescue kidnapped sister of former minister Adelabu, kill two suspects


The younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons have been rescued by the Nigeria Police Force days after they were abducted.

Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her sons, Peter and Paul, were freed during a rescue operation conducted at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, according to police sources.

Recall Dockaysworld reported that the victims were kidnapped on the morning of June 3 while Mrs John-Paul was taking the children to school.

Sources within the force said sustained intelligence gathering and tactical operations led security operatives to the kidnappers’ location, forcing a confrontation with the gang.

During the exchange of gunfire, two suspected kidnappers were killed, while two firearms were recovered from the scene.

Police sources added that efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the operation. Some of the fleeing suspects are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds.
