The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of petrol for the second time within four days, bringing fresh relief to motorists in parts of the country.
A check at some NNPCL filling stations in Abuja showed that petrol now sells for N1,210 per litre at outlets located around Airport Junction and Wuse Zone 6.
The new price is N50 lower than the previous N1,260 per litre charged at the stations.
The latest adjustment came only a few days after the company had reduced its pump price by N75 per litre, bringing the cost to N1,260 per litre before the new cut.
The move also followed a recent decision by Dangote Refinery to lower its petrol gantry price by N50 per litre to N1,125.
With the fresh adjustment by NNPCL, petrol prices across Abuja and nearby areas now range between N1,210 and N1,305 per litre, depending on the filling station.
The latest reduction comes as global crude oil prices continue to decline after tensions in the Middle East eased.
West Texas Intermediate crude traded at about $69 per barrel, while Brent crude stood around $71 per barrel.
