Reality TV star Chidimma Esther Okagbue, popularly known as Bella, has accused her former partner, Segun Olusemo, better known as Sheggz, of torture and attempted murder.
In a demand letter issued by her solicitors, Bella demanded N19.826 million and £10,237 from Sheggz as compensation and full restitution for alleged breach of promise to marry, intimidation, harassment, torture and attempted murder by asphyxiation.
The lawyers said Bella and Sheggz were involved in a romantic relationship that began while they were housemates on the reality TV show and continued after the programme.
According to the letter, Bella suffered “series of well documented buffeting, verbal assault, emotional, physical and mental torture including attempted murder via asphyxiation” during the relationship.
The solicitors alleged that in October 2023, Sheggz assaulted Bella on several occasions, locked her in his house and refused to let her leave despite her insistence on going home.
The lawyers also alleged that Bella had repeatedly raised concerns about the relationship with Sheggz’s mother.
They further stated that in documented conversations with Sheggz in November 2025, Bella expressed fear over what they described as his “constant threat of killing her” and alleged “constant strangulation” at his hands.
The solicitors said they had documentary evidence, including videos and chats, to support the allegations.
“Documentary evidence including videos and chats abound,” the lawyers stated.
The demand letter subsequently called for payment of the stated amounts as compensation for the alleged breach of promise to marry and full restitution for the other allegations.
