FG releases list of approved textbooks
The Federal Ministry of Education has released the final list of textbooks approved for use in Nigerian schools between 2026 and 2028.
The list was released after the completion of the first phase of the national textbook ranking exercise conducted by the ministry.
The approved textbooks cover four class levels: Primary 1, Primary 4, Junior Secondary School 1 and Senior Secondary School 1.
The ministry said each approved textbook has been assigned a unique Ranking/QR Tracking Code. The code contains information that can be used to identify and monitor each approved book, including its title, author, publisher and year of publication.
The exercise was carried out under the supervision of the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad. The final list was approved by Alausa.
According to the ministry, the new tracking system was introduced to make it easier to monitor approved textbooks and improve accountability in their selection, purchase and use in schools.
The complete 2026–2028 ranked and approved textbooks, including the Ranking/QR Tracking Code for each approved title, was also made available by the ministry through its designated link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lOX8iWJ9poAVDwrzunuwkEZa2cknww53/view
