Mary Omolara Oluwafemi is a talented singer, composer and music director whose passion for music is reflected in her ability to perform, create, arrange and lead musical productions. Born in Lagos State on 6 August 1994, Mary is originally from Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Her early education was at Barachel Model College, after which she proceeded to Osun State University, graduating in October 2015. Her academic journey continued in the United Kingdom at Sheffield Hallam University, where she studied for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and graduated with Distinction in 2024.
Mary’s musical journey has been shaped by her commitment to developing her craft and using music as a tool for expression, connection and leadership. As a singer, she brings passion and emotion to her performances, while her work as a composer demonstrates her ability to develop musical ideas and transform them into engaging compositions.
Her experience as a Music Director (MD) during the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) further developed her leadership and musical direction skills. In this capacity, she was responsible for helping to lead and coordinate musical activities, working with other musicians and vocalists to create well-structured and impactful performances. This experience strengthened her ability to lead ensembles, coordinate rehearsals, interpret musical arrangements and bring people together through music.
Beyond performance, Mary’s strength lies in her ability to operate across different areas of music. Her experience as a composer gives her an understanding of musical creation, while her work as a music director allows her to shape performances from a broader creative perspective. Combined with her vocal ability, these skills position her as a versatile artist capable of contributing to concerts, live events, musical productions, collaborations, worship experiences and other creative projects.
