We might as well dye our old notes at home – New Naira Notes Design sparks Outrage

Nigerians have reacted to the unveiling of the new naira notes design by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Federal executive council today.

Many have likened the new design to the old look of defunct naira notes.

Comments beneath the Nigerian Government’s twitter handle showed that people believe little effort was put into redesign.

While some have accused the CBN of simply dyeing the old notes, others claim that a common app filter lead to the new look of the currency.

“WHY THE ARABIC INSCRIPTION ON A CURRENCY? Is Arabic a Nigerian language?”

@MustyDT said;

That’s not Arabic, it’s called “Ajami” and even if it’s Arabic, I see no offence in it cos English is also not a Nigerian language but yet we all use English alphabets to write our languages. I hope it answers your question
