Access Bank CEO, Wigwe, wife, son, die in helicopter crash

CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe has died in a helicopter crash alongside his wife, Chizoba and two children.

Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Holdings is dead Dockaysworld has learnt.

He died when a helicopter transporting him and five others crashed in California, United States of America.

There were no survivors.

The chopper according to sources was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near a border city between Nevada and California on Friday night at about 10pm.

Wigwe left Lagos State, Nigeria, on Wednesday to watch the Super Bowl 58, an American football competition.

The LVIII will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

“Wigwe’s wife and two kids also died in the crash. He left Lagos on Wednesday on Wednesday to watch the U.S. Super Bowl.

“One Bimbo Ogunbanjo was also on the flight. Bimbo Ogunbanjo is the son of business man, Chris Ogunbanjo,” a top source revealed on Saturday.

Herbert Wigwe and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, were absent at the Access Bank Lagos Marathon on Saturday.

The governor was represented by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.

The United States government confirmed the crash as well as the death of all on board.

His wife, Chizoba and son were also was on board the helicopter with him.

This the latest crash in a number of high-profile aviation disasters in the US.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed Saturday that the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating a Eurocopter EC 130 helicopter that crashed around 10 pm.

San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department officials said the cause of the crash is unknown.
