Nasarawa University students feared dead, hospitalized over stampede during palliative distribution


At least two students have lost their lives at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi following a stampede during a palliatives distribution exercise. 

About 23 students have also been reportedly hospitalized after suffering injuries during the incident. 

Channels TV reports that the Head of Information of the school, Abraham Habu, confirmed the incident.

He disclosed that the distribution exercise has occurred as the state government had provided palliatives for students due to economic hardship.

Some students has got ahead of themselves and triggered a stampede before the process could begin in an orderly manner. 

The school is steadily returning to calm as affected persons are being attended to.
