Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore have reportedly announced that he is safe and unhurt after some thugs attacked him at the Lagos City Marathon on Saturday.
Sowore wrote on Facebook: “I am safe and fine in Lagos. Yes, some troublemakers attacked us after we finished the Lagos Marathon today. They accused us of staying in the ‘VVIP’ area without permission and brought thugs to beat us.”
It was reported that the thugs damaged cameras and other equipment belonging to some journalists.
