Reps Sets Up Committee to Oversee Rivers State (FULL LIST)

The House of Representatives has officially announced the formation of a 19-member Ad-Hoc Committee to oversee the situation in Rivers State.

This decision follows the National Assembly’s approval of a revised version of the State of Emergency declaration put forward by President Bola Tinubu.

According to House spokesman, Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr., the adjustments to the proclamation were made after thorough discussions aimed at strengthening democracy and ensuring proper checks and balances.

One major change in the amended proclamation is that the responsibility for supervising the emergency actions now lies with the National Assembly instead of the Federal Executive Council.
