On Thursday, during the May Day celebration at Eagle Square in Abuja, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) called for an increase in the retirement age for all civil servants.
NLC President Joe Ajaero said that the current retirement policy 65 years of age or 40 years of service which is already in place for teachers, health workers, and judges, should be extended to cover all public servants.
He said that this change is necessary and noted that the NLC has previously committed to discussing the issue with President Bola Tinubu.
