Three members of the House of Representatives from Katsina State, who were elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Their defection was announced during a plenary session at the National Assembly in Abuja, with the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, reading their letters of defection aloud.
The lawmakers said they left the PDP because of ongoing internal crises and unresolved issues within the party.
They explained that the instability has made it hard for them to effectively serve their constituents and support progressive governance.
In a show of support, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda attended the session to witness the lawmakers’ official switch to the APC.
