The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has made it clear that he is not leaving his party to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The clarification came after former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, said that the APC was on the verge of collapsing and that many former PDP members, including Ganduje, would soon return to their old party.
Reacting to this, Ganduje said the claim had no basis.
He insisted that instead of him returning to the PDP, it would be Lamido who might end up joining the APC.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ganduje said there was nothing that could make him leave the ruling party, which he described as strong and growing.
He stated that the APC continues to attract politicians from across the country and is getting more support as the 2027 general elections approach.
Ganduje predicted that the PDP would not survive beyond 2025 due to the many problems it is facing within.
He said the current administration under President Bola Tinubu has helped the APC grow stronger and more united.
He also spoke about his role as the APC chairman, saying he is proud to lead what he called the biggest political party in Nigeria and the region.
He said he would continue to work towards keeping the party stable and making sure it delivers on its promises.
Ganduje advised Lamido to focus on the issues facing the PDP rather than spreading stories that are not true.
According to him, the APC remains steady and ready to face future elections with full strength.
