American R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested in the early hours of Thursday, May 15, at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester.
His arrest is linked to an alleged incident that occurred over two years ago, in February 2023, at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London.
According to reports, the 36-year-old is suspected of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle, causing serious injuries.
Brown had just landed in Manchester on a private jet when detectives from the Metropolitan Police, who had travelled from London, took him into custody.
A police statement confirmed that he was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody while investigations continue.
The investigation is being led by officers from the Central West Area Command.
The alleged assault is said to have happened during Brown’s previous UK tour.
He is scheduled to return to the UK next month for another tour, celebrating 20 years in music, with performances lined up in Manchester, Cardiff, London,Birmingham, Glasgow, and Dublin.
However, this recent arrest could affect those tour plans.
